2010 Nissan GT-R Goes To Official

Nissan just released their new car 2010 Nissan GT-R, this is a very good looking car, you can see that from the photo above, the red one is best for ladies. To be honest, I like it too, although I am not a lady. It’s really beautiful. Nissan has unveiled some cool specs and features about this automotive. At over 3,800 pounds, the GT-R is portly by supercar standards. To address this, Nissan is ditching the back seats in favor of a carbon fiber shelf, and healthy use of the material in areas like body trim and interior bits has also been revealed. Exact weight figures haven’t been released yet, but anything that helps in the power-to-weight ratio department is always good. About 2010 Nissan GT-R Price, The base model will begin at $80,790 and the Premium model at $83,040. According to Edmunds.com, the new MSRPs are both $3,950 more than what you would pay for a 2009 model. Oh, that’s a little expensive, but don’t worry about it. People say it can be cut down quite soon. So if you don’t have enough paper called money in your pocket, you can wait several months and see if it has been cut down, then consider to buy it. The last thing you want to know is, What does an extra four grand get you? A lot actually, not the least of which is a 5-horsepower bump for the twin-turbo 3.8-liter V6, which nets a new grand total of 485 hp. Other additions include a retuned suspension with redesigned Bilstein shocks, an upgraded braking system with more rigid brake lines, standard front seat- and roof-mounted side curtain airbags for the base GT-R model, standard wheels for the GT-R with a darker finish and “near-black” metallic wheels for the Premium model. A new color is also available, Pearl White, and you get a polished front bumper now when ordering your car in Super Silver. This is really cool. I’m sure many people love this

Honda Hybrid Insight Price Will Be Under $20,000

Needless to say, Honda Hybrid Insight will be one of the most popular cars in the world. More and more people are preparing to choose it. The latest good news about Honda Hybrid Insight is Honda will price under $20,000. This is really a very very good news for people who are planning to buy Honda Hybrid Insight.
Honda said its new Insight hybrid will be priced under $20,000 when it goes on sale in the U.S. later this month, as the No. 2 Japanese automaker takes aim at eco-friendly bargain shoppers.
American Honda Motor Co. said the 2010 Insight will arrive at U.S. showrooms starting March 24 with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $19,800 for the base LX model. The Hybrid EX, which will include some premium features, will have a base price of $21,300, Honda said. This is not expensive for such a perfect car. I guess the global economic crisis must has great impact to Honda. Maybe they should consider to fire some of their employees again!
What’s more, Honda has said it planned to make the Insight an economical hybrid. The car is expected to compete head-on for hybrid shoppers with Toyota’s Prius, which has long been the best-selling hybrid in the U.S. So I’m sure it will be a very big competition to American car marketing. Maybe the government would do something to it. But who knows. As we consumers, we care much about the price and the quality. Let the government worry about other things.
So what do you think about Honda Hybrid Insight? How much are you expecting for this car?

How does the 2009 Audi A6 compare to its competition?

Audi’s full-size A6 competes with cars like the Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Infiniti M and BMW 5 Series, which all start in the $45,000-$55,000 range. Cars.com editor Kelsey Mays reviewed the 2009 A6 with its new supercharged V-6 engine, and he addresses how Audi fares against its fiercest rivals in his full-length review, found here.
Mays found performance issues (specifically throttle lag) with the A6 in this configuration, and says that this flaw, combined with the A6’s touchy brakes and wind noise, gives competitors the edge:
“Behind the E-Class and 5 Series, the A6 is one of the most popular cars in its segment. I have a hard time understanding why, considering Infiniti has a compelling alternative in the M, Jaguar has the XF and Lexus has the GS. If you're doling out this much money, a car ought to be free of drivetrain issues like those the A6 suffers. Give the A6 an honest workout on your test drive, and if you really find no fault with the driving experience — accelerator lag, touchy brakes, highway wind noise or otherwise — then perhaps its strengths deserve a closer look. I can't summon enough enthusiasm to overlook such issues, and for 50 large, there are plenty of competitors with serious strengths and fewer compromises. Audi has a contender in the A4, but the A6 still needs some work.”

Rinspeed iChange

Frank M. Rinderknecht, the man behind Swiss design house Rinspeed, is no stranger to the Geneva Motor Show. He's also no stranger to building futuristic, sometimes wacky concepts. This year's show was no different, as Rinspeed unveiled a car called the iChange that actually adapts its body according to the number of passengers on board.
"The iChange is a signal for the coming global changes to individual mobility," said Rinderknecht. "We need to be ready to meet these challenges with new ideas." His solution is a teardrop-shaped 1-seat sports car that has the ability, at the touch of a button, for the rear of the car to instantly expand, increasing space inside the cockpit to allow one or two more passengers to climb aboard.
Rinspeed says the most important factors in designing an energy-efficient car are the car's weight, the type of engine it uses and its aerodynamic properties. Therefore, Rinspeed chose electricity to power the iChange, making it a zero-emission vehicle. It uses a 204-hp electric motor receiving power from a lithium-ion battery pack — solar panels on the roof help charge the batteries. The car's 6-speed "pre-selector" gearbox comes from a Subaru WRX. Despite the car's battery pack, the iChange is extremely light for an electric car — just 2315 lb. Due to this, and its aerodynamic shape, Rinspeed says the iChange concept would be capable of hitting 62 mph (100 km/h) in "slightly over 4 sec." with a top speed of 137 mph.
You'll note the iChange doesn't have doors; instead, the entire roof section raises electrically to allow passengers to enter the cockpit. There also isn't a key; its replaced by an Apple iPhone, which controls many of the vehicle's functions. Much of the interior is covered in wool, while the floor is diamond-coated. The Harman Kardon infotainment system is designed to minimize power consumption, while the audio system, despite 12 speakers, was designed to be extremely lightweight.

Italdesign Giurigaro Namir

Italdesign Giurigaro Namir
Italdesign Giugiaro didn't disappoint at the Geneva Motor Show, revealing a new wedge-shaped hybrid sports-car concept called the Namir. The project was developed in cooperation with British carmaker Frazer Nash.
Besides the Namir's radical styling, what draws attention are Italdesign Giugiaro's claims: To put it simply, the Namir prototype is said to be the fastest yet also the most environmentally-friendly hybrid in the world.
Turin, Italy-based Italdesign Giugiaro says power for the Namir would come from an electric motor in conjunction with a "medium-powered" engine. The result would be a top speed of 186 mph, with 0–62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 4 sec. All this, while achieving a claimed 117.6 mpg with CO2 emissions of just 50 g/km. Of course, those numbers are all theoretical since the Namir is simply a concept at this point.
The lightweight and rigid chassis is made of carbon fiber, while the Namir's body uses aluminum and carbon fiber. The beautifully-finished interior is designed for high-speed comfort.

Infiniti Essence Concept

The Essence is the halo car Infiniti needs to define itself as a luxury sports car manufacturer.
Representing the theme, "Everything I want, nothing I don't," the Essence is a front-engine, rear-drive sports coupe with seating for two. Its shape is sinewy with some interesting lines. Notably absent are side mirrors — they've been replaced with miniature cameras.
Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.7-liter V-6. It's not exactly the engine from the Nissan GT-R, but it's close. The initial specs call for 434 horsepower with a 7500-rpm redline, but the final car promises a total output closer to 600 horsepower. This is done with the addition of a hybrid drive system that integrates a 158-hp electric motor in parallel. It combines the two power sources by way of clutches installed ahead of the transmission.
Taking another cue from the GT-R is what appears to be a dual-clutch transmission. Rather than being an all-wheel-drive beast like the GT-R, however, the Essence will send power only to its rear wheels, resulting in superior steering feel but requiring a more attentive driver.
The interior is unique, with separated driver and passenger areas designated by a two-tone color scheme. The driver's cockpit is black, while the passenger's is a deep reddish brown. A metal shift lever and mechanical gauges are a tribute to classic sports cars, as is the car's lack of chrome. The brightwork is polished stainless steel or aluminum, giving an understated, high-quality look.
A large lithium-ion battery pack leaves minimal space for luggage. The solution? Custom luggage from Louis Vuitton. With the click of a button the rear deck opens and out slides the custom cases. The automatic luggage ejection is neat — just what you'd expect of a concept.
The Infiniti Essence seems to be part fantasy, part reality. If the hybrid technology exists to support this design, I say build it. We need future sports cars and grand tourers that offer performance, driving pleasure and fuel efficiency in one package.

Rolls-Royce 200EX Concept

On the heels of Rolls-Royce's record sales result in 2008, which saw sales increase worldwide by 20 percent — from 1010 cars to 1212 (of note, although Northern European and Middle Eastern markets grew by the largest amounts, North America continues to be Rolls-Royce's biggest single market) — the company is in the process of developing an all-new, smaller model called the RR4.
The 200EX concept shown at the Geneva Motor Show gives the design direction Rolls is heading with the car, which will be powered by a new V-12 built by BMW, but only used by the British marque. Rolls says the 200EX/RR4 uses "a unique monocoque body, which is not shared with any other vehicle."
Styling, though, is similar to the Phantom sedan's, from its overwhelming grille to its suicide doors. Sizewise, the 200EX/RR4's 129.7-in. wheelbase, 212.6-in. length and 61.0-in. height are 10.9, 17.1 and 3.3 in. less, respectively, than those of the Phantom. Officials went on to say that 80 percent of the car's components will be exclusive to Rolls-Royce, no doubt trying to separate the RR4 from a presumed BMW 7 Series connection.
The RR4 will be built alongside the four Phantom models in Goodwood, England, with an estimated price of $250,000–$280,000 when it goes on sale in 2010.

BMW Developing Big Brother Navigation System

BMW is working on a new in-dash navigation system with training technology to analyze a driver's habits and then predict future movements and destinations.
The new system, called ILENA (Intelligent Learning Navigation), learns a driver's habits, "then correlates its current location with the next likely stop and anticipate where the driver intends to go next," says Motor Authority.
"The way the system works is by recording data on your typical daily commute as far as learning your route ...

Swedish Brands Face Uncertain Future

Lovers of funky Swedish cars were in a tough position: see their beloved brands go under, or see them sold to a Chinese company, possibly diluting the brand's Scandinavian DNA. Not any more.
Automotive News reports, "Geely Automobile Group has no intention of acquiring Volvo Car Corp., says Geely spokesman Wang Ziliang." CNN/Money adds, "Speaking on the sidelines of the annual meeting of China's National People's Congress, Li said his company isn't keen to buy ...

Ford Plans to Retire Debt

Ford is the only American automaker not currently seeking government help to stay in business -- and it intends to keep it that way.
The Washington Post reports, "Ford announced plans yesterday to eliminate up to $10.4 billion of its debt by offering cash and stock to its creditors in hopes of positioning itself to better weather the weakest auto sales market in more than two decades."
By reducing its debt, the Post notes, Ford will be on similar footing ...

Land Rover Going Green

The race against the clock is on for Land Rover to adapt itself to a world where CO2 emissions count. Currently Land Rover’s range of heavy, powerful sport utility vehicles puts it in a potentially dangerous spot for the future where the European Union’s impending legislations threaten to wipe out the great off-roader altogether. As such, Land Rover and Jaguar have announced a £700m ($1.4 bn US/CAD) investment into making their vehicles leaner and greener.
The first move was unveiled last week at the Frankfurt auto show, an LR2 with a stop and start system to prevent idling. The system will first debut on the TD4 turbodiesel model with manual transmission, due to its ease of integration. Land Rover says that this change, applicable around the globe to all of its TD4-powered LR2s would save 10 million tons of CO2 per year, based on the annual production of 28,000 units traveling 24,000 km (15,000 mi) apiece. However, you can bet that as a part of the investment, Land Rover will be adding it to its other vehicles, especially those with bigger V8s that drink more fuel.

Fiat Concepts Built for Green and Speed

Italian auto conglomerate Fiat will be introducing a pair of new concept vehicles at Frankfurt, frugal performance seeming to be the theme.
Grande Punto Abarth essesse

Having grounded itself in a state of strong finances and good automobiles after some rather tumultuous times, Fiat is now back in stride and focusing on its heritage. Back in the day, Fiat’s performance brand was called “Abarth” (the small Turin-based company founded by Carlo Abarth was taken over by Fiat in July of ‘71) and it produced potent versions of such classic vehicles as the 500.

Toyota iQ Concept, Tiny But Brilliant

Besides the fairly obvious trend of being green, another theme of this year’s Frankfurt auto show is downsizing. Earlier this week we saw the unveiling of the rear-engined, rear-wheel drive micro-compact Volkswagen Up!. But the Up! won’t go unchallenged for the most innovative form of city-friendly transportation around, especially not since the unveiling of the Toyota iQ Concept vehicle.

New Paint that Repairs Scratches Automatically

Not that we’re recommending that you put it to the test, but Nissan Motor Co. has developed a new exterior paint that will automatically repair itself if it gets scratched. Reportedly finding its first North American application with the new 2008 Infiniti EX35 when it gets launched here in late December, “fluid finish” technology is set to revolutionize the automotive paint industry.
The technology, originally introduced under the name “scratch guard” in 2005, is currently being used on a Japanese-market X-Trail.
So how does it work? Like most new innovations, it sounds a lot simpler than it probably is. The trick comes down to a unique clearcoat layer that contains an elastic resin. The resin retains fluidity for about three years into the car’s life, allowing the coating to flow back into shape, thus erasing minor scratches.
